Foster Parent Must Haves: Kimochis Doll + GIVEAWAY!!

Being foster parents, we thought the children living with us would be going through alot of emotions and have a hard time expressing themselves, or not express themselves at all...and we all know it's not good to bottle up emotions.



After googling around town for a few minutes, I discovered a great toy that helps create conversations about feelings...and it's our first Foster Parent Must Have: Kimochis, Dolls with feelings

Kimochis Cloud Doll

Kimochis (KEY.MO.CHE.) means "feelings" in Japanese. We've had this since M has been living with us and it's helped her express her emotions.  The little "feelings" (with the word spelled out on the back) fit right into the Cloud's pocket. It's super cute, a big size and really helps us communicate! We think this is a MUST HAVE for any foster parent...

Imagine being forced to live with a complete stranger...Would you share your feelings with them right away? We think this toy helps bridge the gap. We told M, if she ever needed to tell us how she was feeling but didn't want to talk right away, she could leave the doll with the emotion where we could see it.  This way she's processing stuff and getting it off her chest. We've used this a bunch of times to create dialogue and it's helped us better understand what she's going through and how we can better parent her.
